The Pizza King Story
So it Begins…
Pizza King Inc., originated in 1956 in the heart of Lafayette, Indiana. Owner Wendell Swartz from Lafayette had an idea to open a pizza restaurant. Wendell’s vision and passion for culinary expertise created the perfect ingredients of Pizza King’s “secret recipe.”
In Good Hands
Come 1966, when Wendell was ready to sell, whom better to buy the business from him than his trusted employee who managed his books, Don Schutz. 5 stores were already established when Don bought the business, and he knew he could grow it even more, and he did.
Business Is Good
Providing customers with a fun, relaxed, entertaining experience, Pizza King Inc. is now a family treasured business throughout 70 plus locations in Indiana! In fact, our pizza is so loved, that when people move away, they not only come back to visit, they’ve even asked us to ship pizzas to them!

As we continue to bring you our customer satisfaction and fresh, wholesome ingredients, we pride ourselves on our special ingredients made just for us! This includes fresh ground pepperoni, pure pork, specially made sausage, and our special blend cheese.
